फ़र्क़ / अन्तर

To talk about differences between two things, or among several things, Hindi has two words:

अन्तर and फ़र्क़ . These two masculine nouns are essentially interchangeable.

Examples:

हिन्दी और उर्दू में क्या अन्तर है? = What’s the difference between Hindi and Urdu?

मुझ में और तुम में बहुत बड़ा फ़र्क़ है। = There is a very big difference between me and you.

Note the following expressions as well:

क्या फ़र्क़ पड़ता है? = What difference does it make?

क्या इस दवा से फ़र्क़ पड़ेगा? = Will this medicine make a difference?
