To talk about
differences between two things, or among several things, Hindi has two words:
अन्तर and फ़र्क़ .
These two masculine nouns are essentially interchangeable.
Examples:
हिन्दी
और उर्दू में क्या अन्तर है? = What’s the
difference between Hindi and Urdu?
मुझ
में और तुम में बहुत बड़ा फ़र्क़ है।
= There is a very big difference between me and you.
Note the following
expressions as well:
क्या
फ़र्क़ पड़ता है? = What difference does it make?
क्या
इस दवा से फ़र्क़ पड़ेगा? = Will this medicine make a difference?
