Note how the following concept is expressed in Hindi:

It has been [a certain length of time] since ...

Formula:

subject in dative + object (if any) + perfect form of the verb in oblique + length of time + हो गया (हो गये)

For example:

मुझे खाना खाये एक दिन हो गया ।

It has been a day since I have eaten.

हमको हिन्दी फ़िल्म देखे बहुत साल हो गये ।

It has been many years since I have seen a Hindi film.
