For indirect objects, as well as for a number of special idiomatic constructions, Urdu uses a special form of the oblique case, called the dativecase. The basic form of the dative case is just the oblique of the noun or pronoun followed by the postposition کو ("to").

Examples:

to Ram

رام کو

to the woman

عورت کو

to me

مُجھ کو

to them

اُن کو

I give the money to the boy

میں پیسے لڑکے کو دیتا ہُوں۔
