"To a place"


In sentences expressing going "to a place" English usually uses the preposition "to." In Hindi no postposition is necessary. Look at the following examples:

I am going to the bazaar.

मैं बाज़ार जा रहा हूँ।

I want to go to Qutub Minar.

मैं क़ुतुब मीनार जाना चाहता हूँ।

But note the following where English also uses no preposition:

I am going home.

मैं घर जा रही हूँ।

Where do you want to go?

आप कहाँ जाना चाहते हैं?
